Revivify is my new home decorating service in Northwest Indiana. The grand opening will officially take place in November of 2020, but if you would like to start a project before then please still give me a call. I’d love to see if I can help you beautify your home!
My name is Alexandra Sandbach and I am an independent contractor for home decorating. I am based out of Valparaiso, IN (soon making our move to Winfield, IN) so I typically like to stick to the Northwest Indiana region. I’ve had a passion for home design for over 15 years, ever since my home decorating class in high school. Throughout my entire adult life I have kept up on home trends and diy projects. After high school I studied Interior Design at Purdue University, sure that it was the perfect career path for me…but then I took a creative writing class and fell in love. I’ve been writing and publishing fiction novels for the past right year. I have ten available now as well as right guided journals I designed.
Now that I seem to have a good grip on the ins and outs of being an author I decided to go back to my first passion of home design. It was such a wonderful cataclysmic series of events that led me to starting Revivify. My husband I am sold our home and decided to build a new one in the new neighborhood across the street. We selected a floorplan that worked for our budget and lifestyle and then the fun began. We got to pick out all our trimmings and little details. Immediately I took to Pinterest and my mom’s collection of home magazines for inspiration. I can’t wait to move into our blank canvas this fall and really make it home. You can bet I have big plans (which I’ll be sharing with you all here as we go). While we wait for our home to be built we are staying at my parents’ house; myself, my husband, and our five-year-old daughter. It’s been such a blessing to have generous family to take us in and help us save while we wait. My mom loves to cook and she keeps a tidy house, so with only laundry to do you can imagine how much free time I have now! I started binge watching HGTV’s Home Town and a tiny little thought of inspiration popped in my head saying “I wish I could do that! That looks like fun!” I talked with my husband a bit. He and my dad were really the ones to encourage me forward with starting this service. So here I am, in the process of building my home decorating service (and also beginning my next novel).
I struggled coming up with a name. I had a list of about twenty and I wasn’t in love with any of them. Days upon days conjured up many lackluster names until I couldn’t take it anymore and did what any good author would do; I broke out the thesaurus. I wanted a name that really spoke to my mission of bringing out the beauty already there in a home and breathing life back into it. I came across typical words like rejuvenation, restoration, and such but none felt right. I kept clicking and eventually I stumbled across Revivify. My first thought was “that’s fun to say,” and my second thought was “hey, this could be something!” And Revivify Home Designs was born. With a little love, a little encouragement, and a little thesaurus I started to see my little dreams come true.
